About "Blissful"

Hello, I am Blissful the hiker!

Actually Blissful is my "trail name" but I also find much "bliss" when I am hiking a trail and enjoying the beautiful scenery. I do love adventure though and found it both in writing adventuresome books (I've had twenty novels published) and hiking (I completed the Appalachian Trail in 2007 northbound with my teen son and '08-'11 southbound as a solo hiker) and completed the Long Trail as an end-to-ender in the fall of 2012 and a thru hike of the Foothills Trail in 2014.  I have also completed all the trails within Shenandoah National Park (Shenandoah 500 miler) and am currently section hiking the AT as well as working as a ridgerunner within Shenandoah.

I love talking to people about the AT and hiking (hence my excitement in speaking to groups) as well as connecting on hiker forums and social networks. My account of my 4,000 mile hike is Mountains, Madness, and Miracles - 4,000 Miles Along the Appalachian Trail. Now available in print and e-book.

Be sure to check out the other pages here on the blog for speaking opportunities  for your group on various topics. Or contact me via my e-mail below.

Also, if you would like to be a guest blogger here on "Blissful Hiking" or have products tested and evaluated, e-mail me. Some of my product reviews tested in the field include Yaktraxs, Hoo rags, Light My Fire knife, outdoor related DVDs, etc.
